Her project is titled “Cell-free DNA as a marker of progression in Alzheimer’s dementia and its role in chronic inflammation.” The study will evaluate relationships between cell-free DNA and rates of progression to Alzheimer’s disease (AD) among individuals with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and will examine dysregulation in innate immune system pathways associated with AD.
