Welcome to the Human Aging Project!
This collaborative, transdisciplinary initiative, established in 2021, harnesses core strengths and unique capabilities in geriatric medicine, clinical care, engineering, and basic biology in order to devise and deliver innovative solutions that enable all people to live long, healthy and active lives. We are bringing together a community of committed scholars from across the University to share expertise, conduct research, and translate findings into innovations that slow the development of age-related disease, cognitive decline, disability, and loss of independence.
The Human Aging Project will accomplish this by integrating and supporting cross-disciplinary teams to devise new methods, testing new technologies, and devising methods to move successful interventions into high-impact implementation studies. Promising new interventions and preventive strategies will be further developed with technology development partners from academia and industry.
Because we strongly believe that all people regardless of race, economic status, and geographical location should have access to the benefits that medical and technological advances deliver in the 21st century, a key focus of the Human Aging Project will be to facilitate access to the discoveries of the Human Aging Project to all. Strong partnerships with faculty, staff, leadership teams in Center for Innovative Medicine, the Johns Hopkins Center for Aging and Health, the Division of Geriatric Medicine and Gerontology, the Department of Medicine, and the Schools of Medicine, Nursing, Business, Public Health, Engineering will facilitate inquiry, the development of solutions, and the equitable distribution of these solutions.
Follow our progress at the Human Aging Project and look for scientific breakthroughs and clinical innovations that will enable longer, independent and joyful lives for all.
Stay tuned!
