The publication is titled, “The dynamics of social isolation among a national sample of community-dwelling older adults” and the team of authors includes: Dr. Mfon Umoh, Dr. Thomas Cudjoe, Mary Louise Pomeroy, Alexandra Mueller, Taylor Craig, Katherine Ornstein and Laura Pritchett. This paper analyzes the persistence of social isolation persistence in NHATS, highlighting the dynamic nature of social isolation, thus is a potentially modifiable circumstance affecting many older adults. Their ultimate goal with more clearly defining these groups is to determine the impact social isolation persistence has on clinical outcomes including cognitive outcomes, which may inform strategies aimed at individuals at highest risk.
